Second Repair Scheduled for Homestead Leak & Boil Water Advisory – June 25

Our operators have scheduled another repair to fix a leak near 181 Homestead Drive starting 7:30am to 4:00pm on Thursday, June 25.

The outage is expected to affect 5 properties at the following addresses:

  • 711 Clarks Branch Road
  • 764 Clarks Branch Road
  • 693 Clarks Branch Road
  • 694 Clarks Branch Road
  • 330 Homestead Drive

Drinking Water Warning – Boil Your Water Before Using

Beginning Thursday, June 25 at 7:30am water system pressure will drop below the standard threshold of 20 PSI for residents listed above.

Potentially harmful bacteria could be present in the water supply. If these bacteria are present, they could make you sick, and are a particular concern for people with weakened immune systems. We will perform tests for bacterial to ensure the water is safe in the following days.

This Boil Water Advisory is a precaution. To limit risk to health, customers should follow the instructions contained in this advisory. When tests show no bacteria and you no longer need to boil your water, we will lift the boil water advisory. We anticipate resolving the problem within the next 3 days. 

Customers should bring water to a rolling boil for 1 full minute, allow the water to cool before using, and store the cooled water in a clean container with a cover. Customers should use boiled water that has cooled or bottled water for: 

  • Drinking 
  • Brushing teeth 
  • Washing fruits and vegetables 
  • Preparing food and baby formula 
  • Making ice 
  • Cleaning food contact surfaces
